Asim Qureshi is a senior in the Pre-Engineering Academy and has much interest in engineering, physics, astronomy, journalism and news, and history. He is the Vice President of the Technology Student Association chapter at DMAE and participates in Model UN and other clubs. He has written various stories from sports, campus events, and political editorials. He also attended The Record’s Diversity in Journalism Workshop at Syracuse University last year and learned much about the fundamentals of journalism. Outside of school, he plays the tenor saxophone in DMAE’s Concert and Jazz Bands and enjoys playing video games, watching comic book movies, animated shows, spending time with family and friends, comedy, exercising, volunteering at the Englewood Public Library, and keeping himself updated in day-to-day news. He mainly looks at news pertaining to world events, technology, scientific advancements, movies, and video games. He believes that people should always try to keep an open mind when looking at news and see multiple sources to craft their own opinion rather that piggyback off another’s.
